Artist Yao Zhuoyuan was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang in 2001. He has been deeply influenced by the Italian Renaissance and classical oil painting. He began studying in Europe during his middle school years, and after graduating from high school, he went to study painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli in Italy.
His works are solemn, romantic and archaic, imbued with a strong sense of mystery characteristic of religious and mythological themes. He explores the influence of humanism on art and the divinity of art, and insists on creating using traditional techniques.
