Li Wu

Li Wu (b. 1959, Changchun, Jilin Province, China). He graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 1985. Currently, he is an Associate Professor and postgraduate supervisor at the Academy’s Large Art Studio, a member of the China Artists Association, and a member of the International Panorama Council (IPC).

His artistic practice focuses mainly on oil painting, though he also experiments with multiple media and styles. His works emphasize spatial awareness and humanistic sentiment, characterized by a distinctive artistic language and intellectual depth. Alongside his practice, he is committed to cultivating creativity and independent thinking among young artists, contributing to both art education and contemporary artistic development.

Zhu Fuxin (b. 1938, Jilin). Professor and postgraduate supervisor at Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts; Vice Chairman of the Liaoning Oil Painting Society. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1986.

 

For Zhu, painting is not imitation but revelation: painting should retain the self. His canvases weave Western technique with Chinese resonance — solid yet lyrical, disciplined yet poetic.
